Seems like we have been saying things are hard for a long time. We have had to learn a lot of new skills to live in these turbulent times that seem to be never ending. Media intake regulation. Protesting and advocating while looking out for ourselves. Self-care as a political act.
It's good to look right at it. Our current reality. Our country is in a disturbed state. Bad faith actors are in charge of our institutions. History tells us that alienation and violence are part of a post-pandemic world. It is wise to be alert and prepare for safety. It's also important to look for the helpers as Fred Rogers told us to do. They are out there. To find a way that we can advocate for justice that doesn't hurt us. To continue to work hard on our connections to our own inner worlds and the people in our lives who mean something to us. To increase our motivation for pursuing our goals and setting boundaries when we need to. These are the ways we can survive and even make use of the adversity facing us. We can keep learning. No one can take that from us.
